Themes

In Plainspeak publishes one issue every month, with a single theme running across two months. Our aim is to expand safe, inclusive self-affirming spaces.

CURRENT ISSUE:

November 2023: Digital Spaces and Sexuality

Digital spaces influence our sense of self, our relationships with our bodies, our gender and sexual identities, and the ways in which we express our desires, be it on social media, dating apps, online forums, and virtual communities, to name just a few. The digital world allows for articulations of hidden intimacies and fantasies as well as global solidarities. How does a lack of equitable resources affect people’s access to the digital world? What roles do digital spaces play in feminist and queer activism around sexuality, especially when improving access to information, tools and resources? In this issue of In Plainspeak, these (and other) questions lead us to examine the importance of safe, inclusive and self-affirming digital spaces in our lives, especially with regard to sexuality, sexual and reproductive rights, and wellbeing.

UPCOMING ISSUES:

December 2023: Digital Spaces and Sexuality
