Pet therapy

Pet Therapy

Pet therapy is a broad term that includes animal-assisted therapy and other animal-assisted activities. Animal-assisted therapy is a growing field that uses dogs or other animals to help people recover from or better cope with health problems.

Our TARSHI office is a pet-friendly space and we love sharing it with our team members’ pets. Their presence has boosted our energies and even those who were not comfortable with pets have also taken to liking our adorable pet visitors.

Here are Bihu, Blackie, Dusty Ray and Jimmy – some of our energy boosters!

Pets come with some powerful health benefits. Read The Health and Mood-Boosting Benefits of Pets  to know how caring for an animal can help relieve depression and anxiety, lower stress levels, and even improve heart health.

Animal Angels Foundation is a Mumbai-based organization that uses specially trained dogs to help adults cope with developmental and psychiatric disorders, physical disabilities and behavioural/emotional problems through animal-assisted therapy.

According to them, interacting with animals provides an opportunity for emotional investment that is free of negative evaluation and not subject to being rejected. Having a therapy dog present in a session can create an environment that promotes positive interactions between children and adults.

All Creatures Great and Small (ACGS) is a non-profit animal sanctuary located in rural Haryana. ACGS believes that “animals have a right to a non-speciesist, cruelty-free life. They need to be recognised as sentient beings, no different from humans, and must be included in the global social justice movement along with all the other liberation movements.”
