BRIDGE Global Resources Database

BRIDGE is a specialised gender and development research and information service based in the Gender and Sexuality Cluster at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), in the UK. BRIDGE’s Global Resources Database contains over 3,000 specially selected gender documents picked from over 1,500 sources, which can be filtered by theme or region.

CREA

CREA works on building capacity, hosts public events and develops publications and knowledge resources and advocacy on issues of sexuality, gender, health, disability, abortion and rights. Together with TARSHI, CREA has organised and conducted the Sexuality and Rights Institute in the past.

Equal Community Foundation (ECF)

ECF is a Pune-based non-profit organisation which works with adolescent boys through various programmes to end violence and discrimination against women and girls. Read its blogs to learn more about issues such as sexism, gender stereotypes and many more.

Feminism in India (Hindi & English)

Feminism In India is “an award-winning digital intersectional feminist platform to learn, educate and develop a feminist sensibility among the youth.” The site features writing and campaigns on the intersection of gender with culture, history, media, society and more. It has multimedia resources such as videos and comics, as well as a general resources page.

Feminist Freedom Warriors

“Feminist Freedom Warriors (FFW) is a digital video archive documenting cross-generational conversations about justice, politics and hope with feminist scholar-activists.”

GenderIT

GenderIT.org is a project of the Women's Rights Programme of the Association for Progressive Communication (www.apc.org). The site is a multi-media think tank of and for women's rights, sexuality, sexual rights and internet rights activists, academics, journalists and advocates.

Jagori

Jagori is a Delhi-based NGO that focuses on women’s issues such as on relationships and violence. Their website has a link to lists of helplines and crisis intervention centres in India, as well valuable information about abusive relationships, rape and sexual abuse.

Men Against Violence and Abuse (Hindi & English)

Men Against Violence and Abuse is an India-based organisation that works with “boys and men to address issues of gender inequality and discrimination by interrogating the existing dominant model of masculinity.” They have resources like videos (in English and Hindi), a Hindi publication and a blog. MAVA also runs a helpline “for needy men and women in distress facing marital conflict and other gender-related problems.”

MenEngage Alliance

MenEngage is a global alliance that is dedicated to “advancing gender justice, human rights and social justice.” They have chapters throughout the world. Their website has resources on advocacy & communication, community-based intervention, group education, organizational governance & leadership, research & evaluation and service provision.

National Organization for Men Against Sexism

NOMAS is a US-based “pro-feminist, LGBTQ+ affirmative, anti-racist” organisation that aims to “enhance men’s lives”. Their site has many resources for men who are interested in learning how to support feminism and end gender based violence. They have links on issues such as reproductive coercion, homophobia, men’s mental health, fathering, sex trafficking and more.

The Feminist Majority Foundation

The Feminist Majority Foundation Online features daily feminist news, action items, domestic violence and sexual assault hotlines, a feminist career centre, feminist research resources, information on women and girls in sports, and more.

The Ladies Finger

“The Ladies Finger (TLF) is an online women’s magazine delivering fresh and witty perspectives on politics, culture, health, sex, work and everything in between.” Along with news, opinion, culture and longform writing, India-based TLF also has dedicated sections to highlight both “gender heroism” and misogyny. They also have a “Feminist Action Kit” section.

United Nations WomenWatch

“Curated news and events on gender equality from the United Nations.” This site summarises the UN's gender agenda, disseminates news about UN activities and provides links to all UN bodies, conventions, declarations, and conferences that are relevant to women's issues.

Women’s Health Issues

This US based site has links to partner sites which are about mental health and other issues such as depression, cancer, allergies, Alzheimer’s, diabetes etc.

World Health Organization: Sexual Health (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish & English)
