After a successful run for five years, TARSHI’s ‘Basics and Beyond: Online Course on Sexuality and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights’, adapted from TARSHI’s Basics and Beyond Training Manual, is back in a new format. The original 50-hour course has been updated and streamlined, and is now being offered as two separate short courses:

• Part 1: Basics and Beyond Online Course on Sexuality and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
• Part 2: Beyond Basics Online Course on Sexuality and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights

The Basics and Beyond Online Course (Part 1) addresses foundational-level concepts around sexuality, gender and sexual and reproductive health (SRHR). It is a pre-requisite for Part 2 of the course, i.e. Beyond Basics Online Course.

The course is for individuals or organisations working on sexuality and sexual and reproductive health and rights, students of social work, the social sciences, counselling, teaching, nursing and medicine who can use our eLearning course to supplement their academic knowledge. In fact, it is for just about anyone who is passionate to learn more about gender and sexuality.

This course is in English and comprises three modules, which introduce the learner to the fundamentals of gender, and sexuality related topics. It weaves in interactive and multimedia modes of engaging with the core content, using exercises, YouTube videos, journal articles and a closed Facebook group to address sensitive and challenging issues in inventive and personalised ways. It also includes a module with tools and tips for trainers with ideas and exercises on how to lead an effective workshop or training programme on the topics discussed through the course.

Self-paced mode: Self-paced courses allow learners to access content at their pace, and from anywhere at any time as long as they complete the course within four months of being given access to the course.

Payment modes: Payments will be accepted by Online getaway or through bank transfers for those from India. It will be accepted though bank transfer for those wishing to register from outside India. Please note that the course fees are non-refundable.
 

Blended mode: Blended courses combine online and face-to-face learning or ‘Contact Classes’. Part of the course is given online and part of the course comprises face-to-face sessions, which can either precede or follow the online phase. Registrations are open only for people who have completed TARSHI’s eLearning course/s.
