Who We Are

Vision:

All people have the right to sexual wellbeing and to a self-affirming and enjoyable sexuality.

Mission:

TARSHI’s mission is to promote safe, inclusive spaces that advance people’s wellbeing and their agency over their sexuality and SRHR.

We do this through information dissemination, capacity and perspective strengthening, and cultivating platforms for conversations on sexuality and wellbeing.

From 2024-27, TARSHI is implementing its strategic plan Kaleidoscope working on three thematic areas:

Theme 1: Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)

Theme 2: Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)

Theme 3: Towards Safe, Inclusive, Self-Affirming (SISA) spaces

SRHR: Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights

Our work on sexuality centres pleasure and wellbeing, and takes forward our belief in each individual’s right to make their choices freely and with dignity.

Through capacity strengthening and resources, we support young people’s right to accurate, non-judgmental information on sexuality and wellbeing.

Safe Inclusive and Self Affirming Spaces

We will focus on what it means to create SISA spaces in social sector organisations, through four intersecting pillars: LGBTQIA+ rights; Disability; Psychosocial wellbeing.

What We Do

Trainings & workshops

On sexuality, SRHR, and stress management and burnout prevention.



Online Learning

In-depth and short online courses for individuals and organisations to understand and apply knowledge of sexuality, SRHR, and wellbeing.



Resources

A wealth of resources on SRHR, sexuality and wellbeing, including books, reports, guides and manuals, in English and Hindi.



Awareness & Outreach

Events, panel discussions, reading circles and stalls at college fests and literary events to raise awareness on SRHR, CSE and wellbeing.



In Plainspeak

An eMagazine that seeks to nurture a safe, inclusive, and positive space to generate awareness and conversation on difficult and sensitive issues around sexuality, SRHR and wellbeing.



Towards SISA Spaces

Exploring policies and practices to build SISA (Safe, Inclusive, Self-Affirming) spaces, focusing on people from LGBTQIA+ communities, disability, psychosocial wellbeing and anti-discrimination.
