She has worked within India\u2019s public schooling systems, developing programmes in early learning, prioritising play, reading, and inclusion. Interested in reading as a shared, community practice, Riya works closely with community libraries and is a member of the Free Libraries Network. She\u2019s also an emerging translator of children\u2019s books in South Asian languages. Riya advocates for children\u2019s right to play, read and access quality education and free libraries, and for women\u2019s right to rest, loiter, and take up space freely as part of the collective Women Walk at Midnight.
