And as with the boundless sea, the strength of the waters depends on tides high and low; and upon where you\u2019re standing \u2013 whether you\u2019re at the top of a watchtower, sunbathing on the sand, or floating lost in a little boat. But no matter where you are, you can\u2019t help asking: How deep is the ocean?<\/p>\n<p>Our Feminism and Sexuality issue asks this and more: how deep, how far, for how long, who else, where from, where to, what for?<\/p>\n<p>As promised, our mid-month issue is at full tide: Jyotsna Khatry finds herself stuck between a desire to start a family happily ever after, and her feminist values that make her see <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/i-column-feminism-marriage-and-the-dilemma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the deal is far from sweet<\/a> in her I Column. Japleen Pasricha in hers thinks she was perhaps <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/i-column-how-i-became-a-feminist-and-other-mundane-things\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">born a feminist<\/a>: indignation against seemingly mundane events comes more naturally to her than most. Shilpa Phadke is both a feminist and a mother, and <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/i-column-talking-about-gender-and-sexuality-as-a-feminist-mother-it-only-gets-more-complicated\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">things sometimes get more complicated<\/a> with feminist mothering, as she recounts, sealing the I Column trio.<\/p>\n<p>Shweta Krishnan talks about the complications of the role of culture in <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/book-review-come-as-you-are\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">how we construe our bodies<\/a> and vice versa in her Review of the new hot-on-the-stands book about female sexuality, Emily Nagoski\u2019s <em>Come As You Are<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Our bonus <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/issue-in-focus-nazrein-milana-nazrein-churana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Issue In Focus<\/a>, has Paromita Vohra\u2019s intricate thoughts on the complexities of the selfie and what it might see\/say about us.<\/p>\n<p>Dipika Srivastava <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/isse-porn-ka-kya-lena-dena\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has translated<\/a> Harjant Gill\u2019s <em>What\u2019s Porn Got To Do With It?<\/em> (Issue in Focus) into Hindi for this month\u2019s Hindi section.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s not all, three Blog-Roll articles dealing with <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/the-f-word-10-common-myths-about-feminism-debunked\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">common myths about feminism<\/a>, Pakistan\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/new-project-sheds-light-on-pakistans-lesser-known-feminist-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lesser known feminist history<\/a>, and the discovery that <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/sex-isnt-chromosomes-the-story-of-a-century-of-misconceptions-about-x-y\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">your sex isn\u2019t about your chromosomes<\/a> are waiting for you to dive in!<\/p>\n<p>Our November 1<sup>st<\/sup> issue of Feminism in Sexuality carried two Issues In Focus, each with its own perspective: Harjant Gill\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/whats-porn-got-to-do-with-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">observations on Indian masculinity<\/a> with his third wave feminist-bred lens, and Kristin Francoeur\u2019s foray into the <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/issue-in-focus-on-challenging-neo-liberal-equality-in-consent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nuances of sexual consent<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jasmine George featured in the I Column, articulating her e<a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/i-column-on-realising-a-young-feminist-dream\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">xperiences with young feminist entrepreneurship<\/a>, while Alejandra Sard\u00e1-Chandiramani talked about the <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/interview-alejandra-sarda-chandiramani\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">issues of sexuality and social movements in Latin America<\/a> in a video Interview with TARSHI.<\/p>\n<p>The feminist and sexuality discourse seeks to allow everyone their Voices. Shikha Aleya spoke <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/voices-of-socks-and-sexuality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">of socks and sexuality<\/a> as she dug into history for herstories. Gunjan Chandak <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/voices-on-feminism-sexuality-and-disability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">intersected sexuality with the disability discourse<\/a>, without which, she argued, there can be no true feminism.<\/p>\n<p>Mansi Thapliyal\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/tarshi.net\/inplainspeak\/brushstrokes-women-in-indias-rape-capital\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">portraits of Delhi\u2019s women<\/a> post the December 2012 gang rape is a poignant rendering of resilience amidst vulnerability in the big-city night.<\/p>\n<p>The Tech Corner features a handy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apc.org\/en\/node\/20759\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">activist toolkit for feminist movement building<\/a>.
