But their participation becomes invisible, and is often overshadowed by men&#8217;s sports. In Brushstrokes we have unearthed artwork that like an undying memory, remind us of female athletes engaging in sporting events from Cuju, an ancient form of football, to athletic events, hunting and ball games.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\"><i><em>We\u00a0curate videos and images based on our monthly theme, and credit and link back to\u00a0their original source.\u00a0<\/em><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[slideshow_deploy id=&#8217;3852&#8242;] Women have historically engaged in sporting events, very often fighting dominant stereotypes and stigma to do so.
