How many of us know not to use regular soap to wash our genitals? How many know that the clitoris is the only organ to function solely for sexual pleasure in the human body? How many know that sexual abuse also happens in ‘good’ homes? And that rape is not ‘a crime of passion’? The lack of easily available accurate information on sexuality can not only deprive us of pleasure and joy in sex but also spawn dangerous myths and misconceptions. Silence about matters of sexuality, whether is has to do with violence and safe sex, or sexual health and stereotypes, can lead to assumptions, presumptions, and wrongful discrimination about each other and ourselves.
